In Dec. 2020, Hood County, TX Sheriff’s Department reported they believed a Lipan man named Christopher Whiteley was killed by a cougar (mountain lion).
What followed was a storm of controversy involving both state and federal wildlife officials who disputed these claims.
In the latest edition of Dark Outdoors, host Chester Moore talks with Texas Monthly author Morgan O’Hanlon about her investigative report on the case.
Did a cougar really him the man? Was it another type of animal? Or is there a murderer running loose?
